MariaDB

What you can do

  • Server memory and connection planning

  • InnoDB buffer pool and durability settings

  • Access control and optional TLS

  • Slow query logging and backup-related options

  • Ubuntu install commands and configuration downloads

How to use it

  1. Describe your server

Select the Ubuntu release, MariaDB package source and the server resources you plan to use.

  2. Review the plan

Check the memory allocations, maximum connections, durability, access and logging against your workload.

  3. Install with care

Read the installation notes, back up your configuration and databases, and check the chosen options against the MariaDB version you install.

Size MariaDB around the whole server

This free MariaDB configuration generator helps you plan a database server for WordPress and WooCommerce on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS or 26.04 LTS. Its memory plan shows each allocation next to the connection limits, InnoDB settings and other options. You can change the starting profile to suit a shared application server or a dedicated database server.

Know the limits

A preset is a starting allocation, not a benchmark or a promise of more speed. PHP, Redis, the operating system and other services need their own memory. Durability, binary logging and backup options affect how well you can recover, so check them against your backup process before you change a live database. The generator does not connect to MariaDB or measure your queries.
