How to use it

  1. Paste both versions

    Paste the current configuration into Original and the new one into Updated.

  2. Read the changes

    Lines starting with + were added and lines starting with - were removed; a space marks lines that did not change.

  3. Check before deploying

    Copy or download the comparison if you need it, remove secrets before you share it, and check the real file with its own syntax checker before you deploy.

See exactly what changed

This free comparison tool shows the difference between two versions of a configuration file, such as wp-config.php, an Nginx server block or php.ini, line by line. The comparison is made in your browser, and the download is a standard unified diff.

Know the limits

A text comparison does not understand what the settings mean or check their syntax. Each version can be up to 1,000 lines and 100,000 characters. The comparison can contain passwords or keys, so treat it like the files themselves.
